Terribly lacking in features, doesnt offer a way to select multi destinations for booking? The award booking site is not working as of now and I just updated the app to see if it was me, nope its the site. When trying to book award flight will only loop you back to regular booking to waste your time. Pretty terrible.

Only the first eticket can be shown on your phone if the reservation is for more than one person. FAIL.

No longer allows me log in - only step is to continue as guest which defeats the purpose - need fix

I use this app constantly for work, along with a few other airline apps. I have no idea why, but for some reason American is just so far behind in technology and reliability it hurts. Everyone else has it figured out but American keeps tripping each step and doesnt seem to care. Firstly, I dont even know why they have an app in the first place. Aside from viewing boarding passes, just about everything else the app takes you to the mobile website. It gives you so much grief just to change a seat as well. That is if it lets you change it to begin with. If half the features are redirected to the mobile site theres no reason to have the app to begin with. Worst of all though is how often technical issues occur. Im not talking about the app crashing, theres none of that, Im talking about the servers just plain not working. You cant check in at times or do anything because they "are currently experiencing technical issues". This isnt just a things happen scenario, this happens frequently. Other airline apps just work and dont seem to have these issues. I dont know why this is so hard for them. In the end though, this IS the American Airline app, so if youre flying with them youre stuck with it. My suggestion, do everything on their website beforehand and pull the info up later on.

Im a frequent flyer and this app does a very good job in alleviating the traveling hassles. Easy to check in, boarding pass ready right away, on-time updates... It is difficult to book a flight from the app; however thiss not a problem for me since I always book from desktops way in advance.

This app crashes frequently, and at the most inopportune times. Their competitors (see Delta, British Airways), apps are much more reliable AND user friendly. Very disappointing product by AA.

Attempted to checkin and it said my birthday or passport were not correct in the app after verifying it 6 times.. Unable to checkin in app, so it defeats the purpose. Online checkin on the website worked great. Take notes from Delta, their app is solid.

Impossible to check in for international flights. Constantly keeps creating errors when imputing passport info saying it doesnt match even when you see same passport listed in profile.

Could not book award travel via app or mobile website. Very frustrating. Ended up using a different airline because of the inconvenience. Please fix.

I see reviews here giving great praise for the AA app and dont understand. I recently changed loyalty after 15 years from UA to AA. If you want to see a really good app, try UA. The one thing I have missed from UA is their app. The USAirways app was probably the worst app ever made by an airline, but AA isnt far behind. The AA app is difficult to navigate, limited functions to make changes, updates flights slow, doesnt allow you to just return to home page with ease, and is just plain cumbersome compared to others. I dont understand how hard it is for AA app developers to look at the functionality of other app provided by carriers and try to duplicate it. Its as if high school students created the aa app as a project. Believe me, try the UA app and there is a remarkable difference. Anything you can do on the UA website, you can do on their on their app. Time to catch up American! Your app is as outdated as your MD-80 aircraft and ancient reservation systems Sabre!

I have never been able to check in online and I think part of the issue is American airline is shady they over sell seats and then want you to pay extra for seats or have to get to airport 30min earlier to wait in line and get a seat assigned. Its better to spend $50 more for a seat on another airline then deal with the extra wait time and frustration.

Impossible to book award travel; useless on the road. Had to pay a fee to book by phone. Junk.

Worst airline app I have ever used. Its showing that my only upcoming flight is one from 8 months ago. I havent been able to get it to work since then... Its completely useless to me. Everytime I fly AA I try to updating the app, hoping it will work, but it does not. :(

I buy tickets online - they dont show up in the app. My wife doesnt have an AA account - and there is now way to access her boarding pass with the app so I have to check in at the counter. Thanks for nothing.

I suppose if the app ever worked it would be OK; however it never works. Dont frustrate yourself by downloading and trying to use it.

I liked the app more when you were able to book a flight through the app instead of being taken into Safari. Besides the booking, the app is great for checking-in, changing seats, viewing boarding pass, and providing updates about the flight.

When booking, it now takes you to safari and doesnt keep you logged in. Also, please add the Touch ID for verification. These are only a few of the issues Ive experienced.

Thank God the airline works better than this app. It didnt take long before I deleted it. Dont waste your time here.

This app has only worked for me once and that was months ago!!!! Hasnt worked since, and no one seems to be fixing it!

This is the worst airline app in existence. You cant select any of your own flights and are handcuffed to only what AA will choose for you. Its 2016 how about you update your app and while your at it update the planes too.
